GIS is a computerized tool that links databases to maps. This linkage offers the ability to provide descriptive information about the environment of the community such as length of roads, location of various land uses, the size of a parcel, the location of public assets (parks, sewers, fire hydrants) etc. MAAG has invested in this valuable tool toward developing a visual description of the region and particularly the region’s assets and how those assets relate to each other.
